Terms of service

The agreement between your business and frntdsk when you put an AI agent in front of your customers on voice, chat, SMS and email.

These terms apply when you create a frntdsk account, use the dashboard or the API, connect a channel, or put the web chat widget on your site. By doing any of those you agree to them on behalf of the business you represent.

Your account

One account belongs to one business. You are responsible for everything done with your credentials, your API key and your widget token, including by teammates you share them with. Keep them secret, rotate the API key if you think it has leaked, and tell us if you suspect your account has been accessed by someone else. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

What the service does

frntdsk gives you an AI agent that talks to your customers on the channels you connect and acts within what you authored. You write procedures, actions, guidance and a knowledge base; the agent follows them. It can only take the actions you declared, with the arguments you declared, on the channels you enabled. How much judgement it uses on each step is yours to set.

The agent is software that generates language. It can misunderstand a caller, misread a document or word a reply badly. Review its conversations, keep the knowledge base current, and give it a way to hand a customer to a person when a procedure cannot resolve them. You decide what it is allowed to do, and you are responsible for the outcomes of the actions you connected.

Your customers

You are responsible for how your agent is used with the people it talks to. That includes telling customers they are talking to an automated agent where the law requires it, getting any consent needed to transcribe or process a conversation, honouring do-not-call and opt-out requests, and following messaging rules such as SMS registration and consent requirements for the numbers we provision for you. Do not use the agent to collect payment card numbers, health records or other sensitive data unless you have told us and put the right safeguards in place.

Channels and third parties

Phone numbers are provisioned through Twilio and belong to the pool we manage for you; when you cancel, a number may be released. A connected Gmail account stays yours and you can revoke our access at any time. Email we receive for you through a forwarding address is handled under these terms. Each provider we use has its own terms for the parts of the service it carries, and we list them in our privacy policy.

Actions and integrations

An action calls a system you own or have the right to use, with credentials you supply. We make the call exactly as the procedure authored it and we are not responsible for what that system does with it, including actions marked destructive. Keep those credentials scoped to what the agent needs, and disable an action rather than deleting its procedure when you want it to stop.

Plans, usage and billing

Plans are billed through Stripe, monthly in advance. Each plan includes a monthly number of calls, counted from the start of your billing cycle. Once the Base or Pro quota is used up the agent stops taking new calls until the cycle resets, unless you have turned on overage billing, in which case each extra call is added to your next invoice at the overage rate for your plan. Enterprise plans are unlimited and priced by agreement. Phone numbers, call minutes and SMS may be billed separately at the rates we show you when you add them. Prices exclude taxes. If a payment fails we will tell you and may pause the service until it is settled. You can change or cancel your plan from the dashboard; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for.

Availability and support

We run the service on redundant infrastructure and monitor it around the clock, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability unless we have agreed a service level with you in writing. We may take the service down briefly for maintenance and will give notice when we can. Support is by email and through the dashboard during business hours.

Your data

You own the content you upload, the procedures you write and the conversations your agent has. You give us the rights we need to store and process them to run the service and to show them back to you. We use your conversations to run your agent and to produce reviews and recommendations for you, as described in the privacy policy, and for nothing else. When your account closes we delete your data within 30 days, except what we must keep for billing or legal reasons.

Our property

frntdsk, its runtime, compiler, dashboard, widget and documentation belong to us. You get a non-exclusive licence to use them while you have an account. If you give us feedback we may use it without owing you anything. Do not copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, and do not probe its security without our written permission.

Acceptable use

Do not use frntdsk to break the law, to deceive people about who or what they are talking to, to send unsolicited messages, to harass anyone, to handle content you have no right to, or to exceed the limits of your plan by technical means. We may remove content or stop an agent that does any of these.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you in any twelve month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. You agree to cover us against claims that arise from how you configured or used your agent, including claims from your customers.

Changes to these terms

If we make a change that affects you, we email account owners at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use frntdsk after that date means you accept the new terms.
